What a month, folks! These quiet winter months are my absolute favorite. Days spent never leaving the house, getting some of those indoor projects done. #1 First off, donuts. Donuts are something that we end up getting from Dave's supermarket at LEAST once a week. It's an addiction. #2 Naptime, no other description necessary. #3 Spring, my foot! It doesn't feel one bit like spring. I mean, this was a full-blown snowstorm! I mean, I enjoyed it...But some spring now would be nice. #4 This snow of course tempted us to a snowfight, a temptation which we can never resist. Photo ...
There’s a huge plus to this…
I KNOW I know...Puns are terrible. I am so, so sorry. But I mean, look at it! How could I possibly resist? This is my new favorite headwrap, and I really hope you'll love it too! It's so cute because the stitches stand off of the fabric. I'm obsessed. If you love it, give us a comment! We seriously love hearing from you, it's what makes us happy :) https://www.thesassysparrow.com/products/headwrap-in-blue-stitches Thanks for reading! Have a lovely weekend, friends. ...
Bringing Spring to You!
First of all, may I just apologize for Lydia's glum expression in these photos. We accidentally ordered the wrong kind of tea off of Amazon, and it's been pretty depressing to our family as a whole. Moving on, look at these lovely photos! I seriously have no idea why we haven't done a floral headwrap yet, but it was definitely a mistake. Take a look! What do you think? If you love it, hop on over to the website for details :) https://www.thesassysparrow.com/products/headwrap-in-floral Happy spring! ...
The Month in Photos: February 2018
A note to you: I hope you know how much we appreciate you. Without you, we never would have made it this far. We never could have found a way to stay at home work creatively. Your support is the most valuable thing to us, even if that just means reading this blog post. Every like, every comment keeps us where we want to be; at home, sharing what we love with people we love. So thank you. We appreciate you. #1 This is pretty much a visual representation of what Illinois looks like now. The words cold, rainy, wet and muddy come to mind. #2 It's actually kind of embarrassing ...
Photos of the Month: January, 2018
It may not seem like it from the lack of posting around here, but yes, we are still alive. The only problem with having a blog is that you have to do stuff to actually post about it. Therefore, when you don't do much, you will have a very difficult time posting! #1 FINALLY, Lydia has had time to hone her coffee-making skills. Lattes for days. #2 In a rather unique series of events, we ended up in possession of our late great aunts house across the street. It was a beautiful house, but it really needed some love. So, for about a solid three weeks, that's all we did. Three weeks of TLC, ...
Photos of the month: December 2017 (we love Christmas, btw)
First off, try not to be jealous. We basically had two of the most incredible weeks of our lives. Long story short, we essentially bounced from in front of the fireplace to the couch, the bed and the kitchen. Not exactly healthy, but pretty much ideal. #1 It started on Christmas eve, where after a dangerous drive to and from church, we were pretty much snowed in. #2 Thankfully, before that, we had taken a much-needed day off and gone shopping, taking care of all of our lists. #3 This was Christmas eve, after church and pre-snowed in. #4 Oh and also black friday, we did ...
The Month In Photos: November 2017 (the madness)
Friends, it feels like we've lived a year in the past month. Is it something about Christmas coming up that just escalates everything? I mean, it was successful, lovely, amazing, encouraging, but exhausting. Here goes: #1 Prepare for a few too many open house photos, we really didn't have time to take photos of much else! #2 Sometimes you just have to get away from it all. That's what we did! We headed to Atlanta, Georgia for thanksgiving! This is definitely not our usually MO, but it was by far the most relaxing trip we have had in a very, very long time. Thankful for friends that ...
Thoughts on Thankfulness
Well friends, it's here. The holiday dedicated to reluctant family gatherings, and joyful ones. To cooking till your feet hurt and eating that one family dish. To laughing or fighting or crying around the dinner table. To fielding questions about your life choices. To reconnecting. To being together. This year we are spending Thanksgiving with friends that might as well be family. I would like to wish you that happiest of Thanksgivings and holidays. Just remember, share the Thankfulness. Love your family, every member for who they are. Let them know that you love it when they do that one ...
A Very Sassy Christmas: the aftermath
Hello my friends! So, it's over. The open house was a roaring success! It was insanely busy. Really, we can't thank everyone enough for coming up! We never dreamed of it being so amazing. Here's a brief recap: Saturday (not even a week ago!!) we finished everything up. The kitchen was cleaned, the floors swept and the drinks ready to be prepared. We spent Sunday with the usual feelings of excitement mixed with equal parts anxiety and anticipation. The day had finally come! We got out of the house late (who is surprised) and were in a huge hustle to get everything ready by 9:00. This ...
Something special
As you probably know by now, we have a bit of a party coming up. If you haven't seen anything about it, see here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1702169809825162/ At this event, we will have some gorgeous bags you may not have seen yet. They're plaid, they're wool, they sell out at every show. Take a look :) We will also have the bags below, of course! Just wanted to let you know. ;) Hope to see you there! ...
