Ah, the fall season is at last upon us. Apple cider, (or as Ember calls it, apple spider) cookouts, and…heat waves?
You read that right.
All my Illinois friends know how true this is. I think it almost hit 90 degrees today? It’s October, people! This is not okay!
And yet, we must endure. The traditions must be maintained at all costs. So yes. We’re sweating underneath our flannels, its a bit too warm for roasting marshmallows over the open fire, but we shall. Traditions must remain unbroken 🙂

1.
One of my favorite things we do in the fall time is hit up Rader Farms…a magical place full of pumpkins, frozen apple cider, and cinnamon sugar donuts. More on that later.

2.
With fall comes all of the usual preperation for the AMAZING open house we have planned for you guys! Seriously…this is gonna be unlike anything we have ever done before.

3.
September also ushered in the arrival of sweet Afton Soleil! Hannah’s third daughter is truly a delight and absolutely perfect in every way.

4.
Another major pro of Rader Farms? They don’t have any “No Adults on the Playground Equipment”, which gives one freedom to reconnect with ones childhood in a marvelous way.

5.
And may I say how good the Felicity looks with yellow?

6.
Iri is pretty into this fall thing…dead leaves to shove in her mouth and roll around in? What one-year-old wouldn’t be happy?

7.
The Main Street Market was this month as well, and a delight as always. We especially enjoyed our yearly tradition of going to the Machine Shed, a restaurant which is even cooler than it sounds. If I recall correctly, the cake pictured above was part of the main course…not the dessert. We make bad health choices.

8.
Okay is it just me or could this child literally not be any more precious? Plus look at those little teeth!

9.
Yes, that is a pumpkin spice latte. Yes, its 87 degrees outside. Why do you ask?

10.
And perhaps some of the most exciting news of all. we are painting our family home! Let me tell you, I think our neighbors are loving observing this process. The house may be a glory to look at, but let me tell you…it is a pain in the neck to paint.
But the results are intensely satisfying! The new color is on the left and the old on the right.
thanks so much for following along with us! Its been a delightful month. peace xo,
