Hey Everyone! We just got back from the fair in Waterford, Virginia and we wanted to share some of our pictures. We had so much fun! Most of us girls loved the chance to dress up, even Daddy didn’t complain that much (Hannah is another matter entirely!)
We were required to demonstrate so daddy is pounding on the straps for our Heirloom bags.
Gracie made all of our costumes. She had a dress and I made a hoop skirt! After the second day we traded because I wanted a chance to try and get around without the wide load sign.
We had really beautiful fall weather on Saturday and Sunday. It was a little rainy on Friday but we got everything covered and it wasn’t too bad.
It was so fun to walk around the fair even if we did stick out a little bit! At least there were other people there dressed up just as much as we were.
We also got sung to by a troubadour. It was hilarious and slightly embarrassing.
They had civil war reenactments on both Saturday and Sunday. We were so confused as to who had won on Saturday that we had to go back on Sunday. It was confusing on Sunday as well. It was quite fun though. When Grace and I were walking around on Sunday we were quite pleasantly surprised when the soldiers walking by addressed us with “Good evening ladies!” Never felt more ladylike in my entire life!
They had lots of old farm equipment to display how corn was milled or hay was cut. Quite interesting. We really loved our trip. The atmosphere at the fair was so enjoyable and the weather was wonderful! We also drove into D.C. for two days after the show was over and had a lot of fun visiting museums and walking to the different monuments. Thanks for checking in!
