Every once in a while a trend hits that is just beautiful, and the flower crown trend is one of them! Lydia and I’ve been wanting to make one for quite some time so a couple weeks ago we went garage sale-ing and bought several floral arrangements for around 10 bucks, Score! We were so excited, people were probably looking at us like, “Why are they so excited about some flowers?!” But hey, do what you gotta do! So we whipped up this floral crown in no time, and I must say it turned out nicely! We also made a gold floral crown using our tutorial for paper flowers from a couple months ago found here.
So we got home and promptly pulled the arrangements completely apart and started to make a plan for what we wanted to use.
You will need:
A glue gun, pliers, floral tape, something to use as the base, and lots and lots of flowers!
We got lucky because there was a type of floral wiry thingy that was in the arrangement we bought, but if you couldn’t find something like this, you can just go to your hardware store or Hobby Lobby and find a thick floral wire.
Bend it into a circle, testing it on your head to make sure it is the right size.
There are many different ways you could arrange your flowers to make different types of flower crowns, you could use all small flowers for a very delicate type of crown, or you could go for the larger more dramatic type like we did!
Put a little bit of hot glue onto the base of your first flower.
And place it onto the circlet of wire. Make sure you do this step pretty quickly because the glue dries quickly! And watch your fingers, our glue gun is industrial sized so you could get a pretty decent burn if you’re not careful!
Continue doing the same for the three big flowers. This will form a sort of base for the rest of the flowers.
Then start gluing small flowers all around the back.
Then we started adding some green stuff for some dimension and interest.
We even went out and picked some little brown twigs from our bushes for the front!
And voila! We are finished, this was one of those projects that wasn’t very much work and turned out perfectly! Which is kind of a rare occurrence!
Hope you enjoyed!

Really love the flower crowns, they are so pretty!
That is gorgeous! Did you know your image is used on http://www.craftsmile.com It is place online that wants people to log in and see different tutorials for crafts.
I have found that you must use the stems and use floral tape to hole them, the glue can snap off if touched to harshly. I like to add ribbons in the back to flow down.
The real test, is to make one w/ Babies Breath and no flowers and not have it get too big and fluffy. I do that w/ tape too.
