My hair is very long, and it is decently thick but it is so fine that I quite literally cannot curl using any way shape or form of heat! I am convinced that I need to send it into some lab so they can test it because it is so completely impervious to heat! The only way I can get a little bit of body in it is if I wear it in braids over night or something like that and even then it loosens after about two hours. So the only option left me, is braids. French braid, inverted braid, herringbone braid, you name it I’ve done it! So I decided to make a tutorial for the milk maid braid hairstyle. This is super easy and can be worn in several different ways depending on the event you are going to! So, all you will need is: a comb, hair ties, a basic knowledge of braids, and hairspray (optional). Let’s get started!
Step One.
Start with clean tangle free hair. Part it straight down the middle of your head all the way to the back of your neck. Seperate into two sections.
Step Two.
Choose one of the sections, and begin braiding.
Braid each section all the way down.
Yes I know. At this point we are all thinking “Okaaaay…. that looks horrible!” But you can take my word for it, it gets better.
Step Three.
Take one of the braids and pull it up and over the top of your head, pin it into place. Repeat this step with the other side, laying the braid right up beside the other braid, then secure with bobby pins. Use pins to take care of any ornery tufts of hair and there you have it! A very simple and sweet hairstyle, perfect for any day when your hair is feeling less than cooperative! You can make this look very casual by pulling out strands of hair in the front of your face and just making everything a little bit looser and more messy, or you can make it more fancy by pulling the hair tightly away from your forehead and making everything very tidy and straight.
Enjoy!
