Naomi and I have been spending some real quality time together recently. We spent all afternoon making fern pumpkins, chalk pumpkins, and acorn garlands. And now to top it off we both sit here together in front of the computer sipping hot chocolate with kleenex’s stuffed up our noses, sneezing. I blame her because she got the cold first. Harumph. We shall ignore the condition of Naomi and I for a few minutes and move on to the point of this post. Chalk painted pumpkins!
Chalk paint is the easiest way to take something normal and make it unique! Naomi and I made these chalk paint pumpkins the same time we made these fern pumpkins. The only bad thing about painting something with chalk paint is that then you have to wait 24 hours for it to dry before you can draw on it!
You will need:
A paintbrush
Chalkboard paint
Pumpkins
You can either paint the whole thing, leave a bit at the top, or do some other totally different creative thing!
You might need to do a second coat of paint depending on how thick you put it on the first time.
Wait a full 24 hours before you draw on it.
Once its been 24 hours take a piece of chalk and cover the entire pumpkin with it.
Once its been covered completely go ahead and wipe it off and you are ready to get to the fun part!
Now you get to draw whatever pattern you want on it!
Naomi and I spending quality time together before we both got colds. Ahhh so happy not knowing the terrible fate that awaited us. ‘Sigh…..’
