This painting was only a couple bucks at a garage so we weren’t out much for covering it with this loveliness, it combined several wall art ideas I really liked (remember this?). So I thought I would share the D.I.Y. with you, hope you enjoy…
1. Find a painting you’re not particularly attached since you’ll be covering most of it. 2. Draw your design straight onto the canvas then trace the design with a hot glue gun. Let it sit for about a half and hour or until it’s dry. 3. Paint around the design with whatever paint you have around the house, I used some primer so the background would show through a little bit. 4. Let it sit until completely dry. 5. Peel off the glue. Depending on how good a shape your painting is in it might take off a couple layers of paint. 6. All finished! 7. Display in a prominent place and enjoy!
The easy way to do this would be to get some stencils for the lettering but I didn’t want to do that because I knew Lydia could draw this sweet design. Also, if any of you looked at the blog yesterday or today and it looked like a completely different website it’s because the SCM Music Player widget that was on here, in essence, totally took over for a while until I figured out how to get back into the blog to take the music widget out of the html.Yep, it was super irritating….
