Hey everybody! I hope you all had a merry Christmas! I started this project yesterday and it was originally going to be something else entirely but then I saw this idea and liked it much better so I switched my plans a little bit. I am going to tell you how to do this the right way because I did it all wrong and it was a pain to make. I figured I would just save you the trouble by saying if you do this project don’t substitute the Mod Podge for any other glue. Trust me on this one. That would be the reason this took two days.
You will need: Mod Podge, whichever color of glitter you prefer, some light cotton muslin fabric, a small paintbrush, and an old glasses case.
Oh and a bowl. Preferably a nasty one, for instance this was my brother’s dog’s water bowl on Christmas day when she came over. As you can see from the teeth marks.
Mix some Mod Podge with glitter. You want it to be lots and lots of glitter to only a little bit of Mod Podge, then cover the case completely. This is were I first went wrong. As you can see in the picture below, that is not nearly enough glitter.
This is what it should look like for you just with a lot more glitter, and don’t worry the Mod Podge dries clear.
You can either draw your mustache onto your fabric like I did or you could probably find a printable stencil online.
Cover one side of your mustache with Mod Podge then sprinkle a heavy layer of glitter onto it. Once it dries you can paint another layer of Mod Podge on top of the glitter.
At this point I will skip all the extra steps that I had to take because I ran out of Mod Podge.
Once the case is dry, paint the unglittered side of the mustache with Mod Podge and stick it onto the case.
You can use this case for lipstick, candy, or if you have a sunglasses case that is a little bit larger you could even use it as a small clutch. Hope you enjoy!
