Hello, people of the Internet!
This is Leah. I am the second youngest in the family,(or sixth oldest, if you so prefer) and one of my sisters, I won’t say who, forced me into doing this. As my least favorite school subject is Language Arts, this might be, what’s the word?…. Illiterate. I thought that to help you know us better, I could tell you what our average day looks like. Here goes!
The average day starts with sleeping. Then, there’s a little bit more sleeping. After that, we do some sleeping. Then, we sluggishly drag ourselves downstairs, trundle to the coffeepot, and collapse on the couches of our parlor for Bible Study. Some are caught catnapping, but usually the coffee has given them a surge of wakefulness. After Bible Study, we make a rush to the kitchen to partake of nourishment.
After going upstairs, (and Daddy leaving!) we march down in workout gear to do a hardcore 20 minute workout. After a series of jumping jacks, walkout push ups and scissor crunches (etc.), we sweat to the kitchen to get some water. Once again, we trudge upstairs to change our ensemble. It takes about an hour for everyone to get through the shower (all together, not an hour each!). Hannah goes to the sewing room to prepare for the arrival of Grace. She does that by cutting out like a million purses. Sometimes, she can barely keep up!
Downstairs again, we make our way through school, and as soon as everyone is finished, the clanging and banging begins. With 4 of us all trying to get in a half an hour of each instrument, it can get pretty loud, trust me! I play cello, Grace plays viola, and Lydia and Naomi play violin, and we all play piano, BTW. Lydia and Grace rush up and immediately begin sewing, and they continue sewing pretty much all day. Me and Naomi are charged with throwing together a lunch. It is usually a salad, because when you think about it, there’s not much else we can eat! We don’t usually all eat at the same time, so it’s mostly every man for himself.
As I said, Lydia and Grace stay in the sewing room all day, and Hannah has piano lessons to teach to about 19 students, so its just Mom, Me, and Naomi.
After cleaning a bit, Naomi and I listen to audio books, draw, read, and play outside while mom goes to the grocery store. (She has to go running errands almost every day!)
After Hannah having lessons all afternoon, she makes us some kind of delicious supper and we usually get sat down by 6:30. After rushing through kitchen cleaning, we retire to the parlor for some sort of games or entertainment! Thanks for tuning in!
Over and out,
Leah Joy
