The finishing touch for my vintage outfit:
Lately I have been wearing my hair in a bun all the time! It’s so easy and keeps my hair out of the way. I found this tutorial for how to do my hair up in a sock bun on pinterest. Here is the link for how to do it.
Sometimes I like to dress it up a little so I thought I would make an extra large hair bow to add some cuteness. So here is the tutorial for the hair bow
All you will need is a small piece of scrap fabric and a sewing machine.
First you will need to cut two pieces of fabric in whatever size you want your bow to be. I did mine 5.5” by 6.5”. Then you will need to cut one piece of fabric for the center 2.5” by 3.5”
Next pin the two large pieces together right sides facing. Leave a 2” gap in the center of the long side of the bottom to turn the fabric.
Sew pieces together leaving the 2″ you marked off open.
Turn right side out and iron. Topstitch all the way around the bow to enclose the open seam.
Take the small piece of fabric. Fold in half long ways with right sides facing and sew along the edge.
Turn right side out using a safety pin.
Iron with the seam laying flat.
Now fan fold the bow into 3 folds and slip the center piece on.
Fan out and voila!
To attach a hair clip, use a hot glue gun and run glue along the inside of the hair clip.
