I saw some lace boot socks on Etsy recently and I thought they were just too cute. The finished product makes me think of the little lace socks I used to wear with Mary Jane’s when I was a little girl.
What you will need for this project:
- 1 yard or more of stretchy lace ( I found mine at Hobby Lobby)
- 1 pair of knee high panty hose (color of your choice)
- Sewing machine
The first step is to pull your panty hose over your leg and measure around where the top of the panty hose sits on your leg.
Use the measurements you just took to cut 2 pieces of the stretchy lace, one for each leg.
Now fold one piece of lace together with right sides and raw edges facing and zig zag or serge along the raw edge. Repeat with the other piece of lace.
Now pin your lace circle to the top of your panty hose right side facing out. They should be different sizes as the panty hose is stretcher then the lace. Once you put it on your machine it will stretch the panty hose out and you can get a nice seam to sew the lace on. Using a straight stitch sew directly around the panty hose in the middle of the lace keeping the panty hose stretched tight so you don’t bunch up the lace.
This is what they should look like completed.
